Kanlisirt 1921
A downloadable game
During the Battle of 2nd Inonu/Avgin-Kovalitsa between the C Corps of the Greek Army of Asia Minor and the Turkish Western Front, one of the bloodiest actions was over the steep hill on the left right flank of the Turkish position. On that hill, ever since known as Kanlisirt (Bloody Ridge), the Greek 12th Infantry Regiment and 2/39 Evzone Regiment, both of the III Division, fought elements of ten Turkish Regiments, from the 1st and 61st Divisions (2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 40th, 58th, 132nd, 159th, 174th, 190th, plus the Assault Battalions of the two divisions).
With Greek Regiments being about 1950 men, and Turkish about 750, the battle involved around ten thousand men total. The hill changed sides multiple times, with especially the 2/39 weathering continuous Turkish counter-attacks that rendered five commanding officers casualties. In the end the Turkish soldiers were able to dislodge the stubborn Evzones after six days of battle.
This simple postcard game, done for the Postcards from the Front 2023 Jam tries to capture some of that ebb and flow of the battle.
In memory of the soldiers of both sides who shed their blood on that hill in March/April 1921
I wish to thank O.H.Buyuran and F.S.Aydin for their help.

Some quick fixes and errata, until I get the time to update the rules
28/12/2022
1) Turn Sequence: Greek Reinforcements are placed-> Greek Attacks-> Other Greek Moves-> Turkish Reinforcements are places->Turkish Attacks-> Turkish Other Moves
2) Each defending hex can be attacked from units from only one attacking hex at a time. But multiple attacking hexes may make attacks in a turn. Just one at a time, not all together.
3) Every unit can move only once per turn (Excluding retreats to satisfy Loss Points). An Attack is considered a move.
4) At least one enemy unit participating in an attack, must move to the target hex if it becomes vacant.
5) Fractions are rounded up to the next closest whole number (3.5 counts as 4).
6) If all units that participated in a combat are eliminated due to satisfying loss points, and no leadership points are left to do so, excess loss points are ignored. Only unit participating in a combat, may be subject to loss points during a specific combat.
7) Loss Points is half the difference between Winner's combat result and losers combat result.
This change makes the game much more playable as it reduces the impact of randomness and makes tactics more important:-)
